Marquita
|
Marquita is from Birmingham, AL and attended Jefferson State Community College. She has been practicing in the veterinary technician field for over 18 years and received her Veterinary Technician License in 2019. Marquita’s favorite thing about working at AVC is how all of her co-workers express genuine love for all animals and people. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, bowling, and cooking. She also loves spending time with her 14-year-old Border Collie Mix named Kayla, who is nicknamed “Feet” because she excitedly throws her paws up in the air when she greets others. |

Shondrea

Shondrea is from Bessemer, AL and is currently attending Jefferson State Community College in their Veterinary Technology program. She has been working at AVC for over a year and loves how all of her co-workers are so caring, welcoming, and willing to help. Shondrea also loves how she is always able to laugh and have fun while doing what she loves at work. In her free time, she enjoys to gardening, roller-skating, and spending time with husband and 4 children. Shondrea is also a fur-mom to Deacon Blue, a 1-year-old Pitbull, and Panther, a 12-year-old Cocker Spaniel Mix. |
Jolie

Jolie is from Bessemer, AL. She has been part of the AVC team for over 2 years now and volunteered for several years before that. Her favorite thing about AVC is the one-of-a-kind culture as well as her wonderful coworkers. In her free time, Jo loves singing, reading, spending time with her family, writing poetry, and playing with her Shih Tzu named Archie. A fun fact about Jo is that she lives on a hobby farm with many different animals including mini pigs, chickens, and guinea hens. |
Martrell
|
Martrell is from Birmingham, AL. He has been a Vet Assistant at AVC for over a year now and is thankful for all of the experience he has gained that will prepare him for his future career as a veterinarian. Martrell plans on joining the Air Force Reserves soon and plans to, afterwards, attend Auburn University in his pursuit to become a DVM. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, traveling, reading, gardening, and spending time with his pets DJ and Blu. Martrell also has a strong love for theatre since it has changed his life in so many positive ways! |
