Christa Morrison
Associate Veterinarian
DVM
Hi, my name is Dr. Morrison, and I am a veterinarian at Advanced Veterinary Care of Vestavia. I am passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality care and being a trusted advocate for pets and their families.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Professionally, I have a growing interest in veterinary acupuncture and am currently completing continuing education so I can begin offering it at the clinic. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, reading, and solving puzzles. At home, I care for a lively group of pets — two Alabama Brown Dogs, a Catahoula, a Rat Terrier mix, a Chihuahua mix, and a Domestic Shorthair tabby cat.
Why I Chose This Profession
My empathy for animals and attention to detail have always made veterinary medicine the right fit for me. Returning to Advanced Veterinary Care of Vestavia as a veterinarian after starting here as a vet assistant feels like coming full circle.
Education
I grew up in Gardendale, Alabama, and earned my Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Auburn University in 2017, followed by my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2022.
Professional Background
My special areas of interest are ultrasound and geriatric pet care. I find great meaning in supporting older pets and their families through every stage of the ageing process.
Work History
I began my career as a vet assistant at Advanced Veterinary Care of Vestavia before pursuing veterinary school, which gave me a strong foundation and deep appreciation for the team and clients here. I am thrilled to be back as a veterinarian serving this community.
